"Hikikomori" is the Japanese term for a strange phenomenon. Young people withdraw from their social contacts to the point of total denial of all outside contact. They hole up in their rooms, often for several years. The day/night shift is suspended and they develop a idiosyncratic rhythm of life. This rhythm to be found, provides the structure for movement, sound and light in Moritz Ostruschnjaks solo piece „Island of Only Oneland“. Sometimes it is bright for a long time, sometimes briefly dark, sometimes we find ourselves in the world of thoughts and maybe another time in a room. It's never quite clear where imagination stops and reality begins, what is fact and what is fiction.

The video images overlap, live scenes with feeds as a multiplication of the stage action. The man glides, controlled and obeying gravity, in slow motion down the steps of the grandstand, completely passive. Only when he reaches the bottom, energy awakens in him and electric guitar, bass and percussion start rocking. He pumps himself up, concentrated muscle power, playing his rib keyboard with his fingers. (…) The dance is great, as is the sound of 48nord, Ulrich Müller and Siegfried Rössert. One remains spellbound.
